He is the captain of the Cape Verde national team and has been a key figure in their rise in African football. Vozinha began his career in Cape Verde before moving to Portugal, where he played for clubs like Salgueiros and Progresso. He later joined AEL Limassol in Cyprus and currently plays for Anorthosis Famagusta. Known for his reflexes and leadership, Vozinha has been instrumental in Cape Verde's performances in the Africa Cup of Nations, helping the team reach the quarter-finals in 2013 and 2021.
